Leading with Heart by

How we show up as leaders comes bundled with values, habits, hopes, feelings, and fears. This complex tapestry drives behaviors which - depending on our ability to manage them - can either grow or erode our competencies and influence the results we can achieve.

Compass

The program

Leading with Heart is a three-stage process.

1. Measure

The first step is for participants to complete a Heartstyles Indicator. The results of this Indicator will be used to create an interactive PDG (Personal Development Guide). This document provides a roadmap we can work from.

2. Activate

This is where I work face-to-face or virtually with participants to help them better understand how and why their current behaviors manifest, and the practical tools they can use to decrease or increase particular behavior styles. (The ideal format is a 2-day in-person group program, but other formats are also available depending on your preference)

3. Cultivate

To help ensure learnings are carried forward and translated into meaningful change, programs include individual follow-up check-ins: one-to-one coaching sessions in which participants can discuss progress and address any challenges that may be arising. Leadership coaching is a great way to embed new thinking and habits for sustained transformation.

Whilst the impact of Heartstyles varies and is largely up to the individual on the program, there are several benefits that we hear about time and again:

Outcomes

Based on the formula of information + revelation = transformation...

  • Changed thinking leads to changed attitudes, behavior, habits, and results.

  • Participants will gain an understanding and awareness of their behavior and how it impacts their leadership and relationships.

  • They will understand where truly effective behavior comes from and by strengthening their character, they will be able to choose those behaviors more often.

  • Gain a greater understanding of the benefits of positive self-worth.

  • Create an action plan to map out their new thinking and related behaviors to create new habits to achieve their desired results.

What is character and why does it matter?

Heartstyles defines character as the sum of your best intentions and deepest values. When we strengthen our character, we can better select behaviors that reflect those intentions and values - even when the pressure is on. Character is having the emotional intelligence to understand what you're feeling and why in a given scenario. And it's using that perspective to choose more

effective behaviors.

This is why character matters. It influences behavior, which affects us and those around us, and the results we can achieve.
